Carrello ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information we collect
When you use Carrello, we collect:
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign up
- Family profile — household size, dietary restrictions, cuisine preferences, cooking habits, and health goals you provide
- Meal history — meal plans we generate for you and recipes you save
- Grocery data — your grocery lists and weekly staples
- Kroger account connection — when you connect your Kroger account, we store OAuth tokens to push items to your cart on your behalf. We do not store your Kroger password.
- Payment information — billing is handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID but never your credit card number.
How we use your information
- To generate personalized meal plans using your family profile
- To build and display your grocery list
- To push grocery items to your connected Kroger store cart
- To process subscription payments
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, receipts)
- To improve the product based on usage patterns
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
- We do not share your dietary or health information with advertisers
- We do not make purchases on your behalf — items are added to your cart for your review
- We do not access your Kroger order history or payment information
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI meal plan generation. Your family profile is sent to Claude to generate meal plans. Anthropic's privacy policy applies.
- Kroger API — grocery cart integration. Kroger's privacy policy applies to your Kroger account data.
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
- Resend — transactional email delivery
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Upon deletion, your personal data and meal history are permanently removed within 30 days.
Your rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information in your profile
- Delete your account and associated data
- Disconnect your Kroger account at any time from Settings
- Cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing
